Dr. Taotao Chen is a professor of International Economics & Management in School of Economics & Management, Tsinghua University. She received her Ph.D. in School of Economics & Management,Tsinghua University and M.A. in Economics Research Institute of Public Finance, Ministry of Finance of China.

Dr. Chen’s research interests are Foreign Direct Investment, Globalization & Strategy, and Valuation of Firm & Intagibles. Professor Taotao Chen is a known researcher on FDI spillover and outward FDI from emerging market in China, her research with both empirical tests and case-studies on these topics has been published in many top economic journals in China. Dr. Taotao Chen once was a visiting professor of MIT Sloan School of Management, Harvard Business School, Economic School of Stockholm, Insead Business School, Bocconi University etc and have research partners in those schools as well. Recently her research focus is outward FDI from developing countries, especially on China, and the sustainability of competitiveness of transnational firms from emerging market. Her research has been sponsored by National Science Foundation, MIT Sloan School of Management, Xiao Linshi Foundation and Tsinghua University etc.

Dr. Chen provides her courses to a wide scope of educational program, including undergraduate program, MBA, Executive Training Program and also some of important training program by government agency. She mainly delivers core course of Corporate Finance to undergraduate students, core course of Managing of Global Enterprise to MBA students, elective courses of International Economics, Globalization & Strategy and Corporate Finance for International MBA Program and general MBA students in School of Economics & Management, Tsinghua University; she also delivers course of Globalization of Chinese Enterprise, Business Valuation for Executive Training Program for the same school. She is also frequently invited by Ministry of Commerce, P. R. China on Chambers of Commerce & Industry for African Countries, organized by Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO),. Besides, she once jointly with Harvard professors taught in Tsinghua- Harvard Joint Exacutive Training Program in 2001 and 2002 and taught in Exacutive Training Program in Bocconi University in 2004. Dr Taotao Chen received awards on Teaching many times from different educational administrative institutions, including Ministry of Education, Bureau of Education in Beiing, Tsinghua University, as well as from School of Economics & Management itself.

Early time, during 1994 to 2000, Dr Taotao Chen had assisted National Administrative Bureau and National Association of Asset Appraisal to establish appraisal sector in China and provided main course of business valuation to different educational program, organized by both national and provincial government. During these time period, Dr.Taotao Chen helped to guide many valuation projects including valuation of Bei Man Special Steel Ltd. for Going Public in China in 1999; YunNan Tour Co. Ltd for Going Public in Hong Kong in 1997; GE HANGWEI Medical Systems Co.Ltd for Shares Transfer in 1997; East Chemical Enterprise Group for Setting up Joint Venture in 1996; Patent and Techniques of Stone Company for Investing into Foreign Company in 1996; Shan Hai Dan Enterprise Group for Absorbing Capital in 1995; ShenZhen Metal Exchange for Decentralizing Ownership in 1995. East Electrical Machinery Ltd. for Going Public in Hong Kong in 1995; Yan Jing Beer Enterprise for Setting up Joint Venture in 1994. Besides, she also provided consulting work on Strategic Analysis of CICC Company (a software company) in 2001.
