Professor Xue QIAO is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. She received her PhD degree in Economics from Iowa State University at 2007 and Bachelor in Economics from Peking University in 1998.  Professor Qiao has taught Advanced Macroeconomics, Principle of Economics, Organizational Design and Human Resource Management Economics.

Professor Qiao's research interests are Macroeconomics (Labor market transitions, health and economic development, income inequality), and Institutional Economics. She has received 2 NSFC grant from the National Science Foundation of China. Her research papers have been published in peer-reviewed english journals such as Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Economics Dynamics and Control, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Asia Pacific Economy, Journal of Economics, China Economic Review. She has received awards such as National Excellent Course, (with Qian, Y., and X. Zhong) of China and Beijing Excellent Course, (with Qian, Y., and X. Zhong) in 2008, Award of Teaching Excellence at Iowa State University in 2004, etc. 

Professor Qiao has been a member of Canadian Economic Association, Royal Economic Society and Midwest Economic Association. She has done referee work for Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Population Economics, Public Finance Review, Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Economics, China Economic Review, Journal of Family and Economic Issue.
