Xue Lei is associate Professor in the Department of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategy at Tsinghua SEM, where he served as the Associate Dean from 1998 to 2005. He also headed the Management Information Systems Laboratory of Tsinghua SEM and guided a wide variety of enterprises for the development of management information systems.
Now Professor Xue’s research and papers address the topics such as Relationship between Business Environment & Strategy, Competitive Strategy, Innovative Strategy, SME Development, and Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice. His recent research and consulting have focused on Corporate Strategy in the Manufacturing Industry, primarily in the Strategic Evolution of Equipment Manufacturing companies.
Professor Xue currently serves as the director the Research Center for Health Care Management at Tsinghua SEM. His research also explores health care system reform and hospital management in China. Of particular interest are issues related to three-tier health care system in rural China, corporate governance model of hospitals, and operation model of public hospitals.
Professor Xue has served as Director of Executive Development Programs at Tsinghua SEM. He has led to offer training programs for special inspectors from State Council of the People’s Republic of China and training programs for chairmen and supervisors of the Supervisory Board for key large State-Owned Enterprises. He is one of the leading organizers in compiling the book An Introduction to Business Administration, which has been widely studied by government cadres. In cooperation with China Securities Regulatory Commission and the Securities Association of China, he has organized training programs for independent directors of listed companies. EDP at Tsinghua SEM currently runs a number of key national training programs and is the leading Executive Education provider in China.
In addition to his post and services in Tsinghua SEM, Professor Xue serves as the Deputy President of China Institute of Industrial Economics and Management and as a member of the Training Committee of China Enterprise Confederation. He used to serve in the National Federation of SME Committee. He also serves on the boards of several listed companies.
Professor Xue Lei received his BS in Applied Mathematics, his MS in Management Information Systems and his PhD in Management Science from Tsinghua University.
