Wen Yao is the Associate Professor in School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. Dr. Yao received her B.S. in Computer Science from Fudan University and BEng in Computer Systems Engineering from University of Birmingham in 2006. She received her Ph.D. in Economics in 2011 from University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Yao worked as a senior economist in Bank of Canada from 2011 to 2012. Before joining Tsinghua, Dr. Yao worked at Morgan Stanley, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and People’s Bank of China during 2008 and 2011.

Her research interests are International Macroeconomics, Macroeconomics and Chinese Economy. She has published articles in  the International Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of International Economics and Review of Economic Dynamics. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation in China.
