Dr. Wei Zhang is an associate professor at the School of Economics & Management (SEM) Tsinghua University, Founding Director of Tsinghua x-lab and the Associate Director of National Entrepreneurship Research Center at Tsinghua University. He received his Ph.D. of Management, M.S. and B. S. of Engineering from Tsinghua University.

Dr. Wei Zhang is an associate professor with tenure at the School of Economics & Management (SEM) in Tsinghua University, Founding Director and Academic Director of Tsinghua x-lab and the Associate Director of National Entrepreneurship Research Center at Tsinghua University. He received his Ph.D. of Management, M.S. and B. S. of Engineering from Tsinghua University.

 

He is a Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar 2011-2012 and International Faculty Fellow at MIT Sloan School of Management. He was a visiting scholar at Stanford GSB in 2004.He teaches Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Opportunity and Business Plan, New Venture Creation, Entrepreneurship Rsearch Design. 
 

His research focuses on venture capital (VC), entrepreneurship, and the co-evolution of entrepreneurial action and the institutional environment in emerging industries. During the past 6 years, he has been studying on the emergence and development of new energy industries, especially solar photovoltaic (PV) industry. He has been the project leader or key member for several research projects funded by NSFC Funds, Ministry of Education, National Social Science foundation. He has published papers on Research Policy, Journal of Small Business Management, Management and Organization Review, China Economic Journal, Economic Research Journal (Chinese), Science Research Management (Chinese), etc.  His co-papers won "Best Paper Award" in the 7th Annual Conference of China Strategic Management Scholar Forum (CSSF) and AIB China Chapter 2014 Annual Conference, and 9th Annual Conference of the Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in 2016. He co-authored the textbook of Entrepreneurial Management. 

        He has instructed students of Tsinghua University that won many awards in those key international business plan competitions, such as the championship of 2009 Intel + UC Berkeley Technology Entrepreneurship Challenge (IBTEC).

 

He was Price-Babson SEE-20 Fellow (2004) and a member of Technology Entrepreneurship Education: Global Faculty Colloquium (2007) at UC Berkeley. He is a member of Academy of Management and a founding member of International Association of Chinese management Research (IACMR).
