On May 15th, 2013, CDC works with FESCO and arranges a job hunting event with headhunters for MBA students of School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. Inspired by the reform of MBA programs at SEM, CDC arranged this event to meet the needs of MBA students, especially those part-time students who have worked for more than 7 years, to reach the mid and high end positions in the market. Thus she initiated this event and led the staff of department of company relations working for several weeks and discussing the details with FESCO which is a state owned leading headhunter. To serve more MBA students, the department of student counseling informed the students one by one while helping them polish their resumes and emphasizing the dress code. As a result, nearly 100 students registered in a few days.
The event consisted of a lecture “Standing Up in China market Through Headhunting Agencies” and an on-site recruiting with FESCO consultants. The manager of Recruitment Center, FESCO shared her 14 year experiences working at the headhunting industry and provided the audience detailed advice of how to let the headhunters help them identify and apply for matched positions as well as the skills of interview and salary negotiation. In the second part, the students showed more interests and talked to the FESCO consultants about the 128 mid and high end positions provided by FESCO including 29 in IT, 31 in manufacturing, 23 in mobile, 24 in medicine, and 21 in other industries. Those positions’ salaries range from 250000 to 2 million RMB per year. This recruitment event is different from the regular job fair as it simplified the recruiting process and the applicants had the chances to talk to the headhunters directly. After the section of one-to-one consulting, the recruiting managers provided more professional advice to the applicants who meet the requirements of high end positions.
Nearly 100 students attended this event and gave high evaluation as well as positive comments. Over the five hours, they deepened understanding of headhunting and had more clear ideas of their future professional opportunities. CDC will work with more professional HR service companies and develop various recruiting events for different students populations at SEM.
