Enhancing Relationships with Employers

To deepen the understanding of the specific needs of employers’ recruitment and provide them better professional strategies of on-campus recruiting, the director of CDC and her colleagues of employer relationship department visited nearly 30 companies which have long-term relationship with SEM, including state-owned enterprises such as China Metallurgical Group, Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Bank of China, and China Construction Bank, foreign companies such as Shell, Schneider Electric, Deloitte, KPMG, and Microsoft, and private enterprises such as Lenovo and ENN Group. The visits are meaningful to enhance the collaboration between the employers and CDC and create more working opportunities for the SEM students. CDC team discussed with the employers about the problems they got in campus recruiting and asked them for their thoughts and requests. Besides, CDC people presented the employers the statistics of the SEM graduates this year and talked about how to create more internship/working opportunities fit for the SEM students. Also CDC got more ideas of the current markets and those companies’ businesses in different industries.
In addition, CDC arranged company visits in Guangzhou for 30 SEM students who met the leadership and professionals of top companies in Guangzhou such as P&G, CGB, GF Securities, Pearl River Investment, Dongfeng-Nissan, and Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited.
With those field works, the prospective employers learned more about the SEM students’ characteristics and needs. On the other hand, CDC got more information of how to assist the companies recruit right young talents and improve the competences of the SEM students.
