 陈明哲博士,现任美国维吉尼亚大学达顿商学院讲座教授、国际管理学会(Academy of Management)暨战略管理协会(Strategic Management Society)终身院士,是全球著名的企业战略专家、也是动态竞争理论与文化双融观点的创始人。陈教授曾担任全球拥有近两万名会员的国际管理学会主席(2012-2013),他是这个全球最具影响力的管理学术组织,成立68年以来第一位没有在美国接受大学教育的主席。

陈教授于1988年在美国马里兰大学取得企管博士学位,曾先后任教于哥伦比亚大学商学院与宾夕法尼亚大学华顿商学院,其教学、研究与咨询范围横越欧、美、亚三洲。教学方面,陈教授是这几所顶尖商学院最受学生欢迎的教师;在马里兰大学商学院任教时,教学成效获学生评选为全院第一。他所讲授的企业战略、动态竞争,以及中西企业战略思维比较等课程,均深受好评。

研究方面,陈教授著作甚丰,曾多次获奖,包括顶级学术期刊《管理评论》的最佳论文奖,后来并受邀担任该期刊的副总编辑。陈教授也是全球华人企业战略研究的先锋。他整合西方科学与东方哲学观点来探讨竞争与合作关系的论文,被Journal of Management Inquiry推选为2008年最佳论文。此外,陈教授于1997年在华顿商学院创办了西方第一个以华人企业为研究对象的「全球华人企业发展中心」。他的著作《全球华人企业透视世界企业经理导引》由哈佛大学商学院出版社出版,《外交事务》双月刊曾评论推荐此书。中文版的《动态竞争》一书,分别由台湾智胜出版社与北京大学出版社出版。

咨询方面,陈教授经验丰富。他曾为多家著名的跨国企业(包括美国联合技术、默克制药、联邦快递、杜邦、美国铝业、都福、友邦保险、铁姆肯、摩根斯坦利、慕尼黑再保险、比欧西气体、劳斯莱斯、宏碁以及腾讯等公司),提供战略咨询与高阶经理人培训,也于2009年培训中国国务院国有资产监督管理委员会的重要骨干企业领导人员。陈教授曾应邀参加2000年在北京由世界经济论坛主办的「中国企业高峰会」,2004年在纽约举行的「美国中国企业执行长高峰论坛」与在德国汉堡举行的「中国欧洲企业高峰会」,2006年与2007年分别在阿根廷布宜诺斯艾利斯、巴西圣保罗和意大利米兰由HSM主办的「世界商业论坛」,2007年在北京举行的「中国CEO论坛」,以及2012年战略管理协会在广州举行的「中国论坛」等国际高峰会,并担任主讲人。

陈教授的研究理念及活动见诸于世界主要媒体专访及报导。其中包括《华尔街日报》、《金融时报》、《美国新闻与世界报导》、《今日美国》、《福布斯》、《新闻周刊》、CNNfn、路透社、《亚洲周刊》、《明报》、《人民日报》、中央电视台、《财富中文版》、《经济日报》、《哈佛商业评论中文版》等。

陈教授长年致力于年轻管理学者的培训。曾多次应中国国家教委MBA指导委员会与台湾国科会邀请,分别在北京与台北培训当地的MBA管理教授。他也先后受邀担任英国帝国理工学院、香港中文大学、台湾大学、政治大学、复旦大学、中山大学、北京大学汇丰商学院及清华大学等多所学校的客座讲习教授、咨询顾问。

陈教授出身台湾、祖籍福建,曾经投身大儒之门,修习四书五经、先秦诸子等中国古典著作,深得中华文化的精髓,并以此为底蕴应用于管理学术与实务。
