Risk Sciences, an international academic journal jointly established by the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University and KeAi Publishing, was recently officially fully indexed by the globally authoritative abstract and citation database Scopus. This marks an important milestone in the journal's international development, demonstrating that its academic quality, publishing standards and global influence have received recognition from the international academic community.

Risk Sciences was founded in 2024 and is the first comprehensive international academic journal in Asia focusing on interdisciplinary risk science. It adopts an open access (OA) publishing model, with ISSN 2950-6298. The journal aims to establish an interdisciplinary and international platform for high-level academic exchange in risk science.

Scopus is one of the world's leading academic abstract and citation databases under Elsevier. It applies strict selection and evaluation procedures and only indexes high-quality journals with rigorous academic standards, stable publishing quality, and significant scholarly value. Being indexed by Scopus is regarded as one of the key indicators of a journal's international academic influence. The successful inclusion of Risk Sciences in the Scopus database fully demonstrates that the journal's manuscript quality, peer-review system and overall editorial standards have reached internationally recognized academic levels.

Prior to this achievement, Risk Sciences had already obtained qualifications for inclusion in several important international databases. In November 2024, it was indexed by NASA ADS (Astrophysics Data System), receiving international recognition across interdisciplinary fields including astronomy, physics and computer science. In July 2025, it was officially included in DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), and its open access publishing model and academic ethics standards were evaluated according to international criteria, placing it among globally recognized open access journals. Inclusion in multiple databases has continuously expanded the journal’s visibility across different academic communities worldwide.

Since its establishment, Risk Sciences has adhered to the principle of promoting academic innovation and practical impact. It focuses on global research topics such as climate risk analysis, artificial intelligence risk governance, supply chain resilience, cybersecurity, geopolitical risks and unmanned aerial vehicle transportation safety. The journal brings together research contributions from scholars worldwide and has published a series of studies with practical significance, some of which have already been cited by internationally recognized institutions.

The growth of the journal relies on the dedication of its editorial team, reviewers, authors and readers. The Scopus inclusion represents a new starting point for Risk Sciences. The journal will continue to deepen interdisciplinary research in risk science, maintain rigorous academic publishing standards, further expand international academic cooperation, enhance global dissemination, and contribute scholarly support to global risk governance and sustainable development.
