Tsinghua SEM holds 2023 Global Summer Program

The 2023 Global Summer Program of the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (the program) was held online from May 22 to 26, with students from 39 institutions from 18 countries and regions participating. The total number of participants exceeded 200 throughout the five days of teaching, including undergraduate, master's and MBA students.

This year the program took the online form by leveraging the digital learning trend and technology. The program integrated the high-quality faculty resources from the school, launching the online English live streaming courses with brand influence, promoting the development of digital education as well as the global reputation of the school.

On the first day of the program, Professor HE Ping, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM, expressed warm welcome and sincere greetings to the participating students. He mentioned that the program was established by the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University in 2013, aiming to introduce China’s economy and businesses to the world. During the past years, the program has welcomed hundreds of students from the globe. He hoped that students would gain the insights into Chinese business practices and learn perspectives on the diversity of Chinese economy through this five-day study. Professor HE gave the first lecture on that day.

The other lectures were given by Professor JIA Ning from the Department of Accounting; Professor WEI Qiang from the Department of Management Science and Engineering; Professor MA Hong from the Department of Economics; and Professor XIE Zhenzhen from the Department of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategy.

The program featured the collaboration with strategic partner school, UCL School of Management. Professor Magda David Hercheui from UCL was invited to offer her best wishes for the program. She stated that it was a popular program among students, providing an exceptional opportunity to study at the well-known university in China. She expressed her expectation for the continuing and promising cooperation between the schools. The program alumni Evan Luo and Derek Gong also gave the online speeches to offer best wished to the program.
