Hu Jia (Jasmine), Citi chair professor in international business and professor of management, jointly appointed by Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua SEM) and Schwarzman College, has recently been elected to key leadership positions in two major international management organizations.

In the 2027-2029 election of the International Association for Chinese Management Research (IACMR), Hu was elected vice president and program chair, serving as the association's president-elect. She will subsequently assume the IACMR presidency by succession, leading this international academic organization that brings together scholars from around the world who study management in the Chinese context. IACMR was founded in 2004 as an academic organization for scholars, students, managers and consultants interested in research on organization and management in the Chinese context, with the mission of advancing such research. The association has grown rapidly with the support of its members and partner institutions. It now has over 20,000 registered members from nearly 100 countries and regions, and is recognized as the world's leading academic organization in Chinese management research.

Meanwhile, in the 2026 election of the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management (AOM), Hu was elected program chair-elect and officially entered the five-year leadership pipeline. She will successively advance to program chair, division chair-elect and ultimately assume the role of division chair. AOM is the world's largest and most influential academic organization in management, with members across the globe. Its Organizational Behavior Division has over 6,000 members worldwide, making it the largest division within AOM. Hu will become the first Chinese scholar to serve as division chair since the division's founding.

Before returning to China, Hu held tenured professorships at the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University and the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. Her research focuses on prosocial leadership, team motivation and effectiveness, sustainable leadership and employee well-being in the digital age, and the career development of women executives. She has published nearly 40 articles in leading international management journals, with over 12,800 citations, and has been named to the World's Top 2% Most-Cited Scientists 2025 list by Stanford University. She serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Applied Psychology, is a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science (APS) and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and has received the Academy of Management's Mid-Career Standout Scholar Award. She is the author of "Cultivating Core Leadership: Eight Disciplines for Women Executives," a best-selling book for general readers in China, and has long been actively involved in academic service for IACMR and the Organizational Behavior Division of AOM.

Hu's election to these two important positions not only recognizes her academic achievements and service to the scholarly community, but also reflects the growing influence of Chinese scholars in the international management field.
